Oh Summer!

Oh Summer, look what you've done!

Your forcing us to find ways to stay cool.

We're gathering eggs... finally!

You've brought about that Frappe time of year.

We made a quick trip to the nice cool mall,
and bought someone a puppy surprise.

Than there was that find.
A fun outdoor toy, for a grateful boy.

Remember when we took that trip to the top of the Smokies?

It was a day we won't soon forget.
We rode up in one of these scary things and weren't able to get back down for over 2 hours because a bad storm took out the power.

Than there was that fun trip to Erin's Meadow Herb Garden.
That day was hot, hot, hot, was it not?.

I decided to buy these boots to work in my gardens.

We're no longer afraid of the weeds you breed with the rain.
We've got a young man right on them.

There was that sweet warm day we decided to visit the
Knoxville Farmer's Market on Market Square.

There was a bubble man,

and lots of beautiful handmade goods for sale.

Surprisingly there are several plants, that are surviving in my care.

This one is red, white and blue, and has made it past the fourth of July!

Summer, I've noticed that you and my friends are a welcomed mix.

We've been blueberry picking,

and camping with some

and taking day trips with others.

We've even taken time to smell the flowers.

Your visit brought about an urge for a new swing hung high above our creek.

Well Summer, I'm guessing we've only got time for a few more memories.

Your almost gone. I can see school lurking just around the corner.

"That beautiful season the Summer!
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light;
and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood."
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
